Lets not confuse being fearless of rattlesnakes with being naive. Sure, I can walk without a care cross county through the desert, through cactus, pokie bushes and shin high grasses. That is until I see a rattlesnake……..

Hiked into Deming and met up with Sweep. (A friend of mine from the PCT and my CDT hiking partner, at least until she gets sick of me) We spent the night in a whore/crack hotel that was in the process of getting cleaned up. Didn’t see much progress other then a new sign and increased rates. We slept on top of the covers in our sleeping bags.

I saw lots of wildlife today. Unfortunately, most of it was dead.
